Hiya Friend,
I’m a joyful homebody. So even though I love food, cooking and hanging out in the kitchen, I don’t love going to the grocery store. When it comes to produce, we usually shop a couple times a week (although because it’s garden season, I just stroll over to my veggie patch—woo-hoo!). For household and kitchen staples, I try to think ahead and get ‘er done, stocking up with enough toilet paper and hand soap to fill a bunker—it’s kinda like I’m prepping for the next Snowmageddon… in July!
Which is why I’m so thankful that Thrive Market exists. I’ve not only cut down on trips to the store, I’ve also cut some of my grocery shopping costs by 25-50%. New to Thrive? I was too, until recently. Basically, Thrive Market is an online supermarket on a mission to make healthy living accessible and more affordable for everyone. What sets Thrive apart from other online stores is that all of their products are at wholesale prices and they give you free shipping for orders over $49. Plus, Thrive has a really awesome 1:1 model: For every paid membership, Thrive donates a free membership to a low-income family, student, school teacher or veteran. Yep, pretty awesome.

What could be better than eating healthy food and staying on budget? Nada. Just the other day I visited Thrive and loaded up my digital cart with a bunch of my pantry and personal care faves. A few days later they arrived on my doorstep—Boo-yah! It was so quick and easy, plus I saved $82.40 (over 32%).
Here’s my haul—you can check out how I’ve used some of them in the yummy recipe below.
- Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: I could go on and on about all of the uses for this luxurious oil—it’s a nutritious cooking substitute and great for your skin too.
- Almond Butter: This scrumptious spread is a staple in my healthy home. From putting a grown-up twist on the classic peanut butter sandwich, to giving raw desserts a rich and nutty flavor, I never let my almond butter supply run dry. It also finds its way into my smoothies most days!
- Maple Syrup: This sweetie is the perfect addition to your morning oatmeal or healthy desserts—without any refined sugars. Plus, it’s loaded with antioxidants and minerals.
- Goji Berries: These little suckers add a powerful antioxidant boost to your trail mix and they’re also a great dessert topper.
- Chia Seeds: Have you tried chia pudding? If not, you’re in for a treat! You can even use these omega-3-filled seeds as an egg substitute for your vegan baked recipes. Woot!
- Hemp Seeds: Sprinkle these special guys on top of your salad for an extra punch of protein. Add them to your smoothies and you’ve got a hearty breakfast or lunch, chock full of vitamins and minerals.
- Nori Sheets: These mineral-rich sheets are full of calcium and iron—they’re the queen of wraps for your sushi fixings!
- Brown Rice: Think brown rice is boring? Well, think again! Ditch typical takeout and whip up your own version of your favorite Asian meal using this fiber-loaded grain. How about brown rice pudding? If you’re making it, I’ll be there in 10…!
- Tamari: Gluten sensitive? Tamari could be the tasty soy sauce solution you’ve been waiting for (just make sure you look for the gluten-free variety). Deepen the flavors in your sauces and soups with this awesome ingredient.

I can not live without my Nutiva Cacao Powder. I put two tablespoons in my smoothie every morning. It makes my whole day better and brighter!! ☺️
I can’t live without hemp seeds. I add them to my smoothies (or make hemp milk first) to get the protein I need.
I love my ACV and coconut oil. I’m new to the US and having a hard time finding my favourite items
This is a tough one Kirs! I feel like there are multiple pantry items that I can not live without! But if I had to pick one I think it would be chia seeds! I like to add them to my smoothies, coconut yogurt ,salads and avacado toast!
I LOVE shopping THRIVE, their products are all excellent.

Coconut oil – I use it for everything. Especially conditioning my black granite sink – it smells amazing and shines it right up. 🙂
Thanks for the support Bridget! We are so happy to hear it!
Hi Kris. Thanks so much for the introduction to Thrive Market! I hadn’t heard of them before. Not only do I intend to shop there (I’m a bit of a homebody too…) but we’ve submitted our brand of handmade minimalist mineral makeup and organic skincare (www.SheerMiracle.com) for consideration to be carried on ThriveMarket.com. Hugs – Jane
Hi Jane! Thanks for checking out Thrive Market and for submitting your line!
I’m joining the coconut oil bandwagon. Can’t live without it!
Absolutely hooked on coconut oil and chia seeds! They go in all my smoothies and are included in most of my dishes. I also use the coconut oil for oil pulling and as a natural sunscreen and moisturizer!
Dark chocolate- for baking or snacking!
I cannot live without coconut oil and apple cider vinegar. They both have so many uses both in the kitchen and out of the kitchen.
I can’t live without coconut oil, BUT I have now discovered coconut oil that also contains Ghee. Which is pretty sweet.. And I swear my skin feels softer.
I couldn’t live without my cooking spices 🙂 and my husband can’t live without hot sauce
I cannot live without garbanzo beans. I often get the craving for fresh homemade hummus, or roasted chickpeas, and I get sad if there aren’t any garbanzos in the pantry.
organic maple syrup!
I’m 100% cuckoo for coconut oil! I love to cook just about anything with it for a sweet, south East Asian flavor (don’t get me started on coconut oil and ginger braised greens drizzled with tamari and dried coconut shreds). Also, I moisturize head to toe with the stuff, oil pull to make my teeth bright and spankin’ clean, and use it nightly to remove my eye make up and grit from the day for a gentle facial massage before cleansing. It’s da coco-bomb.
Definitely coconut oil!
A new staple for me, since embarking on a healthier cooking journey, is Tahini . I use it in vegan gravies and sauces, hummus and to add flavour to many veggie dishes. Yum!
My apple cider vinegar. Must have it!
I can’t live without my Bob’s Red Mill products! Steel cut oats, oat flour, almond meal….it’s all great!
Almond butter! With bananas, with chocolate, in smoothies, with a spoon all by itself… You can’t go wrong with almond butter! 🙂
