Hiya Friend,
I’m a joyful homebody. So even though I love food, cooking and hanging out in the kitchen, I don’t love going to the grocery store. When it comes to produce, we usually shop a couple times a week (although because it’s garden season, I just stroll over to my veggie patch—woo-hoo!). For household and kitchen staples, I try to think ahead and get ‘er done, stocking up with enough toilet paper and hand soap to fill a bunker—it’s kinda like I’m prepping for the next Snowmageddon… in July!
Which is why I’m so thankful that Thrive Market exists. I’ve not only cut down on trips to the store, I’ve also cut some of my grocery shopping costs by 25-50%. New to Thrive? I was too, until recently. Basically, Thrive Market is an online supermarket on a mission to make healthy living accessible and more affordable for everyone. What sets Thrive apart from other online stores is that all of their products are at wholesale prices and they give you free shipping for orders over $49. Plus, Thrive has a really awesome 1:1 model: For every paid membership, Thrive donates a free membership to a low-income family, student, school teacher or veteran. Yep, pretty awesome.

What could be better than eating healthy food and staying on budget? Nada. Just the other day I visited Thrive and loaded up my digital cart with a bunch of my pantry and personal care faves. A few days later they arrived on my doorstep—Boo-yah! It was so quick and easy, plus I saved $82.40 (over 32%).
Here’s my haul—you can check out how I’ve used some of them in the yummy recipe below.
- Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: I could go on and on about all of the uses for this luxurious oil—it’s a nutritious cooking substitute and great for your skin too.
- Almond Butter: This scrumptious spread is a staple in my healthy home. From putting a grown-up twist on the classic peanut butter sandwich, to giving raw desserts a rich and nutty flavor, I never let my almond butter supply run dry. It also finds its way into my smoothies most days!
- Maple Syrup: This sweetie is the perfect addition to your morning oatmeal or healthy desserts—without any refined sugars. Plus, it’s loaded with antioxidants and minerals.
- Goji Berries: These little suckers add a powerful antioxidant boost to your trail mix and they’re also a great dessert topper.
- Chia Seeds: Have you tried chia pudding? If not, you’re in for a treat! You can even use these omega-3-filled seeds as an egg substitute for your vegan baked recipes. Woot!
- Hemp Seeds: Sprinkle these special guys on top of your salad for an extra punch of protein. Add them to your smoothies and you’ve got a hearty breakfast or lunch, chock full of vitamins and minerals.
- Nori Sheets: These mineral-rich sheets are full of calcium and iron—they’re the queen of wraps for your sushi fixings!
- Brown Rice: Think brown rice is boring? Well, think again! Ditch typical takeout and whip up your own version of your favorite Asian meal using this fiber-loaded grain. How about brown rice pudding? If you’re making it, I’ll be there in 10…!
- Tamari: Gluten sensitive? Tamari could be the tasty soy sauce solution you’ve been waiting for (just make sure you look for the gluten-free variety). Deepen the flavors in your sauces and soups with this awesome ingredient.

A few weeks ago was the first time I tried cottage cheese, it’s this organic cottage cheese and I mix it with this yummy kefir yogurt by Latta. I add org. ground flax seeds, chia seeds, wheatgerm, healthy nutritional yeast flakes, almonds {and/or all mixed nuts & seeds.. I’m just currently up to replenish all of my nuts…almonds, walnuts, cashews, brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, pecans, etc… and seeds…sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds… ;o) }, and fresh blueberries. IT IS SOOO GOOD!! AND!! I believe it’s helped clear up my skin, YAY!! Who doesn’t love clear skin?!?! haha ;o> I think all of the healthy bacteria in the Latta kefir yogurt and cottage cheese has really helped my digestive system.
